Periscope
Basically what this app does is Explore/take you around the world through someone else's eyes.
For example Youtubers can now vlog their daily activities for subscribers to watch them live via their twitter account, kind of like keeping up with your favourite youtuber :)
Twitter officially takes the wraps off its standalone video live-streaming app called Periscope. The app is already available for iOS devices with as much as 100,000 users and the number is climbing really fast; this is of course due to the popularity of Twitter.
You will recall that Twitter bought the company in charge of Periscope about two weeks ago in other to compete with Meerkat, a recent video live-streaming app.
Although Meerkat and Periscope may perform the same function in that they allow for the broadcast of live video event to remote viewers via a smartphone however, there are little differences in both apps with Periscope having a slight edge over Meerkat.
Which bring the race between this two live streaming apps Meerkat and Periscope closer than it seems...
Periscope is very fluid and as far as live video streaming app go, Periscope is likely to win race to be the best live streaming app.
Below is what the team have to say
_______ OUR STORY _______
Just over a year ago, we became fascinated by the idea of discovering the world through someone else’s eyes. What if you could see through the eyes of a protester in Ukraine? Or watch the sunrise from a hot air balloon in Cappadocia? It may sound crazy, but we wanted to build the closest thing to teleportation. While there are many ways to discover events and places, we realized there is no better way to experience a place right now than through live video. A picture may be worth a thousand words, but live video can take you someplace and show you around.
